Welcome to our FAQ,
We appreciate you checking here first before contacting our front desk.
To reach the hotel, you’ll need to take the amphibious boat departing from the port of Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue.
Once your reservation is confirmed, you’ll receive an email asking you to select your crossing time. As soon as we receive your selection, we’ll book your boat ticket (at a preferential price) and send it to you by email.
Your ticket includes a map of the port showing your boarding point based on the tide, as well as the departure time for your crossing.
During your stay, if you wish to return to the mainland, boat tickets will cost €6 per person. Please come in the morning so we can reserve a spot for you on the boat.
For dinner, a table is automatically reserved for you at Le Carré restaurant. You will be offered a seating time based on the day’s crowd. Payment can be made in two ways: directly at the restaurant after your meal, or at the front desk on the day of your departure (the bill will be charged to your room).
For organizational purposes, if you do not wish to dine at the restaurant, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. Please note that there are no other restaurants on the island and that the rooms (except for the Junior Suite) are not equipped with a refrigerator.
Free parking spaces are available all around the harbor. For your convenience, we recommend parking on Avenue Amiral Alphonse Vaultier.
Bicycles are not allowed on the island in order to preserve this protected site. Bike racks are available at the dock. For more secure parking, we recommend contacting one of the bike storage facilities: Les Vélos de Saint-Vaast or Dring Dring Cotentin, which also offer bike storage services (rates vary by provider).
Although we are located on an island, our hotel is situated in the heart of the Lazaret (a former quarantine site).
As a result, the rooms overlook the Acclimatization Gardens.
Check-in begins at 2:00 p.m. During busy periods, check-in may be delayed. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience. Luggage storage is available upon request at the front desk.
Check-out is between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. For Junior Suite rooms, check-out is until 11:00 a.m.
You also have the option of a late checkout until 12:00 PM for an additional fee of €25. This option can be added when you make your reservation.
Luggage storage is available free of charge at any time. It can be accessed using a code that will be provided to you at the front desk.
Breakfast is served buffet-style at Le Carré restaurant from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
It is included in your reservation.
By car
Follow the signs for Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, then head to the port to board the amphibious boat. The boarding point is marked on the map included with your ticket.
By train
Take a train toward Cherbourg and get off at the Valognes station. From Valognes, you have two options:
- take a taxi to the port of Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue;
- take bus line C toward Cherbourg and get off at the Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue stop.
You can then walk to the boarding point in 5 to 10 minutes, depending on the tide.
Please Note
Trains and buses may sometimes be delayed. We encourage you to take this into account when planning your trip so that you arrive on time for your crossing. The boat departs on schedule and, unfortunately, cannot wait for late passengers.
Find all the activities here or on the official Tatihou Island website.
The museum is located in two buildings, one in the quarantine station and one at the foot of the Vauban Tower.
Hours: 10:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and until 6:30 p.m. in July and August.
There are two large beaches where you can swim. Don’t forget to bring your beach towels.
