Article 1: Application of the General Terms and Conditions of Sale
The following terms and conditions apply to all room reservations at Les Maisons de Tatihou***, The Originals Relais.
Each reservation necessarily implies your full acceptance of these general terms and conditions of sale.
Article 2: Offer
As is customary, rooms are available from 2:00 p.m. and must be vacated by 10:00 a.m. at the latest (11:00 a.m. for Junior Suites); late check-out is available until 12:00 p.m. (for an additional fee of 25 euros).
We cannot guarantee a specific room assignment.
Article 3: Reservation and Guarantee
Given the unique island location of Tatihou, ferry tickets must be reserved at the same time as your accommodations and evening meals. Our front desk will handle this reservation.
Reservations can be made by phone, email, or through our booking platform, The Originals.
A confirmation email for this reservation will be sent to you by the front desk of Maisons de Tatihou***, The Originals Relais, within 48 hours at the latest. We accept the following credit cards: VISA, Eurocard-Mastercard, and American Express.
We also accept vacation checks and restaurant vouchers (paper format).
- “Flex Rate” Reservation:
A credit card authorization is required at the time of booking.
Full payment for the reservation is due upon arrival.
- “Non-Cancelable, Non-Refundable” Reservation (Early Booking or Last Minute):
Immediate payment is required at the time of booking.
Upon arrival, you will be required to pay for ferry tickets and tourist taxes.
Article 4: Cancellation or Interruption of Stay
Any modification or cancellation of a reservation by the Guest must be reported as soon as possible and will only be considered effective as of the date of receipt of a letter or email. The request will only become effective once Maisons de Tatihou***, The Originals Relais has confirmed its acceptance in writing.
In the event of cancellation:
- For “Flex Rate” stays:
Cancellation is free of charge up to 2 days before arrival.
If canceled between 2 days prior to arrival and the day of arrival, you will be charged for the first night (breakfast included).
If you cut your stay short, you will be charged 100% of the total cost of the stay.
- For “Non-Cancelable, Non-Refundable” stays (Early Booking or Last Minute):
The amount is non-cancellable and non-refundable for any reason.
Article 5: Changes or Cancellations of Stays Due to Transportation Issues
In the event that the Manche Department is unable to provide the ferry service between Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue and Tatihou Island, Les Maisons de Tatihou***, The Originals Relais, shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect costs or damages resulting from such changes.
Les Maisons de Tatihou***, The Originals Relais will, to the extent possible, offer the Guest the option to reschedule their reservation for a later date, in agreement with the Guest.
Article 6: No-Show
(Cancellation without notice and/or failure to arrive on the scheduled start date of the stay)
In the event of a “no-show”: You will be charged 100% of the total cost of the stay (nights + breakfasts).
Article 7: Rates and Payment
Rates are displayed in euros, including all taxes. Subject to change without notice.
These prices do not include the local tourist tax in effect in the municipality or the ferry crossing. These charges must be paid upon arrival, when the keys are handed over.

Article 8: Services
The Guest must arrive on the date and at the time specified in their itinerary to board the ferry. In the event of a late or delayed arrival, or a last-minute cancellation, the Guest must notify Les Maisons de Tatihou***, The Originals Relais.
Les Maisons de Tatihou***, The Originals Relais will attempt, depending on existing ferry reservations, to find the Guest a spot on another ferry; however, no refund will be issued for the accommodation.
Check-in, including the handover of room keys, takes place at the front desk of Maisons de Tatihou***, The Originals Relais.
Rooms are available starting at 2:00 PM and must be vacated by 10:00 AM at the latest (11:00 AM for Junior Suites); late check-out until 12:00 PM is available for an additional fee of 25 euros. In the event of the Guest’s voluntary early departure, no refund will be issued.
Article 9: Force Majeure
Force majeure refers to any event beyond the control of the parties that is both unforeseeable and insurmountable and that prevents the customer from carrying out the trip or from fulfilling all or part of the obligations set forth in the contract. This shall apply, in particular, to strikes affecting transportation, as well as government or public unrest. The parties shall make every effort to prevent or mitigate the effects of a breach of contract caused by an event of force majeure; the party wishing to invoke an event of force majeure must immediately notify the other party of the beginning and end of such event, failing which it shall not be relieved of its liability.
Article 10: Relocation
In the event that the hotel is unavailable—whether due to force majeure, a technical problem at the hotel, or any other reason—the hotel reserves the right to accommodate guests, in whole or in part, at a hotel of equivalent category offering services of the same nature. The hotel cannot be held liable for payment of any additional compensation.
Article 11: Food and Beverages
Bringing alcoholic or any other beverages onto the premises of Maisons de Tatihou***, The Originals Relais is strictly prohibited.
Article 12: Liability
Les Maisons de Tatihou*** and The Originals Relais assume no liability for theft, loss, or damage to guests’ luggage and personal belongings during their stay.
The Guest is held liable for any damage, deterioration, or act of vandalism that may occur as a result of their occupancy of the premises and/or due to the actions of guests in their care and/or staff under their supervision, whether such damage affects movable property, furnishings, or real property, whether or not owned by the hotel. Consequently, Les Maisons de Tatihou*** and The Originals Relais may require the Guest to leave the property without any compensation or refund for the current stay, and to reimburse the hotel for any damages caused by such acts.
The guest is liable for all damages caused by him or her as well as by other occupants staying with him or her.
Any items missing from the rooms upon checkout (hair dryers, bath towels, paintings, etc.) will be billed within 48 hours of checkout.
Article 13: Data Protection
Les Maisons de Tatihou*** and The Originals Relais, as data controllers, collect and process personal data for the purposes of managing reservations and customers, for billing and payment purposes, and to conduct marketing activities and satisfaction surveys. The data is intended for Les Maisons de Tatihou***, The Originals Relais, and its service providers. In accordance with Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978, on data processing, files, and civil liberties, the Customer has the right to access, correct, and delete personal data concerning him or her, and may object to the processing of such data. To exercise these rights, simply write to Maisons de Tatihou***, The Originals Relais, at the following address: BP9 50550 Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue.
Article 14: Miscellaneous
Pets are prohibited on Tatihou Island by municipal ordinance due to the presence of a protected natural environment. In the event of the Guest’s failure to comply with this provision, Maisons de Tatihou***, The Originals Relais may refuse access to the premises to animals. In such a case, any modification or termination of the contract shall be at the Guest’s initiative, and no refund will be issued. An exception is made for certified guide dogs.
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the hotel in accordance with the law of January 2, 2008.
